Driver Stripes To Prevent FRSC Arrest

An unidentified commercial driver shocked officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) when he took off his clothes after officials of the corps demanded for his vehicle particulars.

According to The Punch, the incident happened on Tuesday, September 1, at Marian Road in Calabar, Cross River.

Raheem Bayoor, an eyewitness said that FRSC officials had approached the vehicle in a routine inquiry when the driver came out and started behaving strangely. He said the driver took off his clothes and was acting as if he was mentally deranged. The officials reportedly refrained from struggling with him because he looked poised to resist arrest.

He said: “The man just came out when the FRSC officials requested for his particulars and started pulling off his cloths. It is obvious that he was abnormal; a mad man behind the wheel.

“The FRSC officials were stunned and did not attempt to create any scene as it was obvious that the driver was ready for any rough encounter.”

The state commader of the FRSC, Mr. Ikechukwu Igwe, said he has asked his men to trace the man and arrest him.

“We will definitely get him,” he said.

Incidences of drivers stripping to avoid arrest is not new, a bus driver in Lagos recently stripped naked in a bid to evade LASTMA officials’ arrest. The stunt however did not go down well with the officials who dragged him out of his vehicle and placed him under arrest.
